Although initially marketed toward children, the series would find enormous and unprecedented popularity across a huge demographic, and is roundly praised not only for reinstating the popularity of reading, but also for its allegorical warnings against discrimination and prejudice. The Philosopher’s Stone is the first work in the incredibly influential series. Reading’highchair’ not’high chair’ on page 8, with the latter being an early print point that this impression does not comply with. In the publisher’s original pictorial paper wraps. Fading to back strip and perimeters of front wrap. Light edge wear to wrap perimeters. Pages lightly age toned due to paper type, but clean. Fine – Very well preserved copy showing very little wear. Only one or two minor faults, really a very attractive copy. Quite a wide term meaning no major faults but probably several smaller ones. Often expected given the age of the book, but still a respectable copy. Meaning not very good. Some more serious faults as will. Be described in the condition report under’condition. Good Only – Meaning one or more faults that could really do with repair. As with good only above but with other faults. Leaving a compromised copy even after repair.
