For sale is a complete set (books 1 – 7) of Harry Potter Softcover U. 1st Edition, Early & First Print Bloomsbury published books. First softcover editions, not book club or foreign edition. Softcover first editions were printed at the exact same time and print house for books 1-4, and books 5-7 they switched to releasing them one year later after hardcover which makes them a bit harder to find, especially books 6 & 7. There is no writing, stamps, stickers or inscriptions inside or out. The books are clean with no dog-eared, torn, missing or loose pages, and solid bindings. As you can see from the pictures, the books are in nice overall condition, but are not without some flaws as each book has been used at varying levels and some wear should be expected. Individual conditions are based on industry standard definitions and grading is given for the individual books below. I try to make note of anything I would consider more noticeable or hard to see in pictures, but typical wear for grading condition should be expected as they are not perfect, but if you have questions or need further pictures beyond allowable 12 for the posting, please contact me as I would be happy to help. The Philosopher’s Stone: 1st Edition, 62nd Print. Book & Wraps Condition: Very Good- (could be unread as the spine is great with no wrinkling; minimal edge and corner wear there is a group of shallow dents to the front upper corner of cover and one small dent to back; pages and page edges very clean). The Chamber of Secrets: 1st Edition, 12th Print. Print Line: “20 19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12″. Book & Wraps Condition: Very Good- (spine appears unread or read carefully; minor of edge and corner wear with just a couple of small bumps and wrinkles but not real noticeable ones; clean pages with some light spotting to edges and a handful of pages but not bad). The Prisoner of Azkaban: 1st Edition, 30th Print. Book & Wraps Condition: Near Fine unread copy; slight edge and corner wear. The Goblet of Fire: 1st Edition, 1st Print. Print Line: “1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20″. Book & Wraps Condition: Good some thin wrinkling to covers and spine; bumping to corners and minor edge wear; there is a deep dent to the front cover near outside edge that does dent the first several pages… The Order of the Phoenix: 1st Edition, 1st Print. “1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2″. Book & Wraps Condition: Very Good (minor rubbing/bumping to covers; minimal edge and corner wear; some wrinkling to the spine from reading but binding is still close to square and pages clean). The Half Blood Prince: 1st Edition, 1st Print. Print Line: “First Edition” (Half Blood Prince was the only book in the series to put “First Edition” in place of number line down to 1 for the first print run, similar to books 4-7 in the hardcover). Book & Wraps Condition: Good+ minor wrinkling/bumping to covers; slight sun fading to spine; wrinkling to spine from reading a light bumping to spine and top and bottom spine edge; pages very clean. The Deathly Hallows: 1st Edition, 1st Print. Print Line: “1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2″. Book & Wraps Condition: Very Good- minor wrinkling/bumping to covers; some edge and corner wear; spine has some vertical wrinkling from being read and a slight forward lean to binding; clean pages. The only one not pictured is book 7 which is in fact a first edition, first print and if you would like pictures just shoot me a private message. The big thing is that upon my examination, there is no writing, stamps, stickers, inscriptions or dog-eared pages, and the bindings are all strong and stand alone as a set without bookends. A pretty nice first edition softcover set. This is a great early set of books that are becoming increasingly hard to find in such condition. It will make a wonderful gift or addition for any HP Fan seeking to build their Harry Potter book collection with an early softcover UK first edition set!
