For sale is a very rare Softcover 1st Edition, 2nd Print, Bloomsbury published Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. Bloomsbury First Edition Softcover, printed at Clays Ltd. In Great Britain, not a Ted Smart, not a book club, and not a foreign edition. Number line reads “10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2″. Wendy Cooling quote on the bottom of front cover, which was changed after the 5th print. Young wizard on back cover and spine of the book and jacket, which was changed to the old wizard. No Hogwarts Crest on the front two cover pages. This book is in Good- Condition. Book & Wraps Condition Details There is no writing or inscriptions inside or out. There is no foxing to any of the pages or page edges. There are no tears, marks or dogears to any pages, but there is some bumping to the bottom corner of the first several pages (see picture #7). The cover colors and illustrations are good but there is light sun fading to the top inch of the front cover and very outer edge of the front cover. There is some bumping to cover corners with front bottom being most visible. Vertical wrinkle to the front cover, and one diagonal wrinkle near front bottom corner. Small dent just above “Rowling” on front cover. Small thin wrinkling to back cover wrap, but not bad, and some rubbing but no deep scratches or anything. No wrinkling to the spine, but a few small bumps with one being a tiny puncture in wrap just under “Rowling” on spine. Some edge wear to top of spine wrap, but not bad. There is minor edge wear present. Binding is solid and really doesn’t feel read. The pages have some yellowing from age. Tiny bumping to a few page edges, but very small and not very noticeable. As you can see from the pictures, the book has a fair amount of wear, but this is a very rare book and many 1st and 2nd prints have not survived near this well or at all. This is a chance to get a very rare book at a fair price that will continue to rise in value over the years. This rare book will make an incredible gift or collection addition for any HP Fan seeking one of the earliest Philosopher’s Stone copies in the world for their collection!
